POLICE ARREST FOUR IN ONGOING GANG CLASHES IN SINCHU ALAGIE.

Banjul, The Gambia — The Gambia Police Force has confirmed the arrest of four individuals linked to ongoing gang-related violence in Sinchu Alagie, as part of a broader security operation targeting criminal activity across the Greater Banjul Area.

On the evening of June 12, 2025, Anti-Crime Unit (ACU) patrol teams conducted intensified operations in several hotspot communities, including Wellingara, Sukuta, Sinchu Alagie, Talinding, Serrekunda, and Brusubi Phase 2. While most areas remained calm, serious disturbances were reported in Sinchu Alagie.

A violent altercation occurred at Five Junctions in Sinchu Alagie between two rival groups—the Ghetto Force Crew and the Blackpool Ghetto Crew. The clash appears to be part of a larger pattern of retaliatory violence between the factions.

Responding swiftly, police forces arrested four suspects believed to be affiliated with the Ghetto Force Crew:

Yaya Jallow

Modou Sanneh

Muhammad Lamin Jallow

Salieu Ndow

During the arrests, officers recovered the following items:

Four cutlasses

Three glass bottles

One knife

Two lengths of wire cable

All four suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.

The Gambia Police Force strongly condemns all forms of gang activity and reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards violence and lawlessness. Patrols and enforcement operations will persist until peace and public safety are fully restored in affected neighborhoods.

The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to the nearest police station or through emergency hotlines.
