KING FM / FLASH TV GAMBIA CEO CONDEMNS ALLEGATIONS LINKING KING FM TO UDP.
The Chief Executive Officer of King Media, Alhagi Dawda Secka, has publicly addressed the recent developments surrounding the dismissal of former Mandinka news anchor, Ebrima Jarra.
This clarification was made during a live broadcast on King FM, King TV Gambia, and other partner platforms on Monday, 16th June 2025.
Mr. Secka categorically refuted rumors suggesting that King FM is owned by a specific ethnic group—particularly the Fula community—or that it operates as a media arm of any political party, especially the United Democratic Party (UDP). He described such claims as baseless, divisive, and misleading.
Speaking to journalists from King FM, Mr. Secka emphasized that he is a proud Gambian, a native of Saba Sanjal, and Wolof by tribe. He stressed that his media institutions are built on the foundations of inclusivity, neutrality, and professionalism.
In addition to his role in the media, Mr. Secka highlighted his contributions as an employment creator through other ventures, including Secka Transport and multiple rental properties located within the Kanifing Municipality Council (KMC) area.
He firmly reiterated that King FM and its sister institutions are not affiliated with any political party, tribal group, or individual. As a legally registered independent media entity, King FM is committed to providing services to all clients equally, based on the merit of their engagements.
Mr. Secka called on the general public to avoid politicizing internal administrative decisions and to refrain from spreading misinformation and speculation.
He concluded by reaffirming that King FM/Flash TV Gambia remains steadfast in its mission to deliver factual, unbiased, and responsible journalism, in service to the collective interest of the Gambian nation.
